Winger Hackney heads to Spotland
Winger Hackney heads to Spotland

Steve Eyre has used his footballing knowledge to add Simon Hackney to his ranks today.

Manchester born Hackney left Colchester on a free transfer in the Summer after spending two and a half years with the Essex side.  He initially joined them for a fee in the region of £125,000 from Carlisle where he had previously spent four seasons.

The wideman is noted for his considerable pace, with a few tricks up his sleeve to boot, and has been described as a proper old fashioned winger.

Has such great pace because he is so 'streamline'(d), has all the strength of a 'tiger' but isnt yet known around the 'globe'.

I'll get my coat...
