Neil Warnock has been named as the new Leeds United boss....but only until the end of the season!

Neil Warnock will take charge at Leeds United on Monday, but only until the end of the season!

The 63 year old was sacked by QPR last month and was interviewed for the Wolves job on Thursday, but the sighting of his trusted aide Keith Curle at last weeks home defeat against Brighton and a meeting with Ken Bates in Monaco yesterday led to the bookies dramatically shortening their odds on the original favourite to succeed Simon Grayson.

Leeds put Neil Redfearn in temporary charge, which began with a 3-0 win at nine man Bristol City two weeks ago but since then Leeds have slumped to disappointing defeats against Brighton and Coventry and are now six points adrift of the playoff places.

Bates came under even more fire from the fans for staying away in Monaco during the crisis, for tax-reasons however Warnock is expected to be at today's game with Doncaster and will assume full duties on Monday.

The future of Redfearn is not clear, although it is hoped that he will be allowed to carry on the excellent work he has done coaching the academy and second string.

The length of Warnock's contract will be fuel for much debate, but Bates clearly thinks that the outspoken one from Sheffield can drive us into the playoffs and notch up yet another promotion on his CV!
