First Palace Batch Snatched Up
First Palace Batch Snatched Up

Saints fans have flocked to the box office to buy tickets for the April fixture against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park and now more have arrived.

The initial 3,000 tickets for the visit to Crystal Palace on Easter Monday went on sale on Wednesday morning and where sold out within 24 hours, now Saints have recieved another 1,100 and these are now available and selling fast.

In total Saints are due to receive 5,800, so presuambly after this second batch go, then we get a further supply, which has been stated will be our full and final allocation for this fixture.

Seemingly though we have been allocated the entire Arthur Waite Stand, which as older readers will remember we filled to capacity for the Wimbledon game in 1998/99, the full capacity is around 9,000, but for this forthcoming game it seems that the Police want to leave a full two blocks either side, empty to form a segregation zone.

Hopefully if we sell out the 5,800, Saints will petition both Palace and the Police to release seats in at least one block on each side, surely a full block is enough for segregation, indeed for big games at St Mary's in the Itchen/Northam corner next to the away fans we barely have an aisle and a small fence seperating opposing fans and apart from the usual posturing we have never had a problem in this part of the ground, at the end of the day if the Police feel there is a need for a buffer zone, then so be , but surely it doesnt need to be two blocks.

It's bizarre how we're treated at Palace, there’s always a huge police presence. I wonder if it’s the same for every Palace game or do they just do it for us? Can anyone remember anything kicking off after a game against Palace?

I was sitting close to one of those buffer zones last time we were in the Championship, I remember that despite the buffer zone the police were standing right next to us and were stopping anyone from swearing or gesturing at the Palace fans, it was like having your old school teacher standing over you.

Looking at my tickets they are for Block S which suggests only one block empty one end , but two blocks near the Palace Ultra's
