Fans with a long and angry memory still recall that afternoon in October 2005 when Mr Booth sent-off Gareth Griffiths in a 2-1 home defeat by Lincoln for an offence only his assistant saw.

That game spoilt his faultless record at Spotland as Russell’s other four games at our ground brought Dale victories.
On the other hand, the only time we have seen Mr Booth in away fixtures ended in two Dale defeats, most recently at Bournemouth in April where we were thrashed 4-0!
In total, Russell has refereed Dale seven times, producing the following results:
Russell has been a busy official this season and Saturday will be his 14th game of the campaign.
Last weekend he was in the middle at QPR v Preston, while he was recently seen on Sky at the live match between Tranmere and Stockport.
His only League Two game this term was at bury in August, where the Shakers humorously lost 1-0 to Grimsby.
