Early season optimism evaporates as subs sink Leeds at the seaside!

In the end Blackpool were a golden mile better than Leeds, despite us taking a 16th minute lead through Tom Lees.

Blackpool made our early season optimists think again, as they came from behind in the space of five second half minutes to undo 59 minutes of Leeds trying to hold on and hit the hosts on the break.

Lees, who marked his first start of the season with a booking, rose to power home a 16th minute corner. Howver the reality thereafter was it would be a back to the wall job as Blackpool pushed forward.

Paddy Kenny superbly denied Kevin Phillips and Alex Baptiste as the Tangerines created the chances to realistically rattle up a repeat of what they did to us at ER last November.

After the restart, it continued in similar fashion with Isiah Osbourne hitting the post with Kenny beaten.

Leeds could have nicked a second through McCormack and then Becchio, but Blackpool seemed the more likely to score and there was an air of inevitability when they did on 75 minutes.

It was a double substitution on 64 which provided the breakthrough for In Holloway's men, sub Noua Dicko turned home a low cross.

On 80, fellow sub Matt Phillips converted an almost carbon copy move with one time Leeds boo-boy target Stephen Crainey involved in the build up.

If there were going to be any more goals, the home side looked more likely to score them in what was a rapid, reality check for Leeds, who looked second best and significantly short of quality in comparison to their hosts.
