Only Pride Left To Play For

Bristol Rovers v Swansea - Match Preview

Jackett will be boosted by the return to the matchday squad of five of his injured players - James Thomas, Alan Tate, Leon Britton, Karl Connolly and Kevin Nugent as he will want to have a look at these players prior to having the job for producing his release list by mid-May.

Tate is likely to come straight into the line up at the Memorial Ground whilst the rest may have to make do with a place on the bench at best as the Swans look to halt a run that has seen them lose five consecutive games, killing off their season in the process with the play offs now not even mathematically possible to achieve.

After decent showings against both Lincoln and Hull over the Easter weekend you have to fancy our chances more than you would ten days ago when things looked bleak indeed when we were outplayed by Rhyl. However, the steel has been instilled back in the side and with Jackett working constantly on their fitness and team morale then things can surely only take a turn for the better?

For the home side, Wayne Carlisle, Paul Tait, Danny Boxall and Dave Savage will all be missing as Rovers search for the three points that will just about ensure their third division survival for another season. Despite looking reasonably comfortable in 17th place, they find themselves just 5 points above the safety zone meaning that a run of defeats, a la Shrewsbury last season, could see them flirting closely with relegation to the conference. I can't see it happening but I am sure that Rovers fans everywhere will breath a little more easily if they achieve a win tomorrow.

It promises to be a good day out for those travelling to Bristol for the game, Swansea have reported that 800 tickets have been sold for the game and five official buses are fully sold to transport some of those supporters. With the other away game remaining being Darlington this will be the last trip of the season for many fans and one that they will want to make the most of.

Let's hope that includes three points for the Swans!

C'MON THE JACKS!
