Jonh Viafara has been released www.theuglyinside.net wishes him well.

Jonh Viafara has been released by mutual consent and returned to his native Columbia, it seems both Club and the player have come tothis arrangement and on the official website Viafara thanks the fans for their support, the situation has come about because Viafara & his wife have just become parents and understandably his wife is worried about being in a strange country alone with a baby.

Some would say that he is a professional and thats the price that wives and family have to pay sometimes, in return for what is a lucrative lifestyle, personally I feel that this is an arrangement that will suit both Saints and the player.

Truthfully I think Viafara has had the rough end of the stick at St Mary's, despite looking one of the better players in the squad, time and time again under George Burley he found himself out of the starting line up, being kept out of his best central midfield position by those great midfielders Jermaine Wright and pele for goodness sake !

But he knuckled down and just got on with playing the game, wherever he was called upon, be it in defence or midfield.

So now I wish him well for the future, im sure he can continue his career in his home country and for Saints it enables them to get another high earner off the wage books, OK they hvent got a fee for him, but the £500k they would probably have got if he was sold to another British club would be less than his wages for the year and for this its money saved rather than lost.

In truth there are probably two or three more players who we could do with being homesick as well, players paid sill amounts of money far and above the value of their contribution, sadly the club is sidled with them, asthey cant get the same wages elsewhere, so will stay and take the money.
