Knight Shocked At Transfer Listing

Knight Shocked At Transfer Listing

Swans striker Leon Knight has said that he is shocked to find himself on the transfer list following his omission from the 16 man squad that beat Chesterfield on the weekend.

Knight rang tonight' Real Radio phone in to say that he was told Friday morning that he was left out of the side in favour of Lee Trundle and then admitted that he found it hard to believe that he wasn't in the sixteen. However, he dismissed stories of a bust up with Jackett over the decision and said that he had no problem with the manager.

He also denied rumours that there was a dressing room bust up with Andy Robinson at Nottingham Forest and claimed that all he said was that there could have been a better final ball in the first half of the game which the Swans led 1-0 at the time.

Knight also went onto say that he would love to stay at Swansea and would know basically carry on with his training and see what happens.

Earlier in the day, manager Kenny Jackett had told the same radio station that he had put him on the transfer list saying that he (Jackett) felt it was best that he seek pastures new claiming that work rate from the striker was not up to the required standard.

Jackett claimed that there was not "one particular incident" that he was not happy with but did go onto say that he wanted to ensure the right mix in his squad which could hint at rifts in the playing staff.

Jackett was asked a question on whether Knight was an unsettling influence to which he simply answered "I think he could work harder"

Speculation has been rife all day of the reasons behind this move with the larger percentage of fans saying it is the wrong decision based on the knowledge that they have of the situation. Rumours have flown all weekend about various bust ups with various different personnel, some of which may or may not be true. Leon Knight phoning a sports phone in of his own accord just adds to that speculation of what has really happened and maybe much of it will never come into the public domain.

The thought of Leon Knight pulling on a Swansea shirt again looks extremely unlikely at this moment in time and what comes of his transfer listing just remains to be seen.

Swansea City - never a dull moment
