Swans Launch Buy A Player With Coca Cola

Swans Launch Buy A Player With Coca Cola

Swansea City fans can help boost Kenny Jackett's Championship-chasing squad and win themselves a 'money can't buy experience' with the launch of Coca-Cola's 'Buy A Player' promotion.

Coca-Cola has today launched a brand new on-pack promotion with a £10m prize fund that could earn the Swans up to £100,000 towards the club's transfer fund.

Swans chairman Huw Jenkins and manager Kenny Jackett are fully behind the promotion and have agreed to award the fan who raises the most money for the club with an experience they will remember for the rest of their life.

The 'Superfan' will become a director for a day and enjoy a pre-match meal in the boardroom, seats in the directors' box and a visit to the dressing room to meet the players and manager.

The lucky fan will also get an exclusive signed picture taken with the squad at the official team photo-shoot next season; the chairman's parking spot at the Liberty Stadium for the entire 2007-08 season; a signed Swans shirt and two season tickets.

They'll also get the chance to take a penalty against the chairman on the opening home game of next season where Huw Jenkins and vice-chairman Leigh Dineen have agreed to donate up to £1,000 to local junior football teams.

The chairman will also face penalties against the four other fans who raise the most money in the 'Buy a Player' promotion, plus Swans manager Kenny Jackett who will get the chance to double the money his directors have to donate.

"It's a fantastic opportunity for the club to boost its transfer fund,'' explained the Swans chairman. "And give one 'Superfan' an experience of a lifetime.

"Last season two fans from Brighton and Southampton won £250,000 each for their club through the Coca-Cola promotion. This season is slightly different because every club will earn something, which is fantastic news.

"The club is fully behind the promotion and I would urge every Swans fan to help us reach our initial target of £75,000.''

From today, anyone buying a promotional bottle or multipack of Coca-Cola or Coke Zero will be in with a chance of winning a prize for the Swans transfer fund. Prizes range from 50p all the way up to £100,000. The winners of the £100,000 prizes will also win a personal cash prize of £10,000.

Fans need to simply text in the unique code found on promotional bottles or multipacks to 80094 or enter it at www.coca-cola.co.uk/football. Upon entering, Swans fans will find out instantly if they are winners of money for their club.

Everyone entering the 'Buy A Player' promotion up until February 7 will also be automatically entered into a separate draw for £250,000. The winner will be announced live on Soccer AM on Saturday, February 10.

Swans fans can also keep up to date on their own transfer total and overall fund by logging on to www.coca-colafootball.co.uk.

The club's official website will also be giving regular updates (www.swanseacity.net).
