Today's News of the World claims that Luke Moore is a target for Roberto Martinez as he begins the job of replacing Lee Trundle at the Liberty Stadium.

The paper claims that the Aston Villa forward man - who bagged a hat-trick on a pre-season tour of Canada this week - heads a four man shopping list of people who could replace Trundle but, much like the Wales on Sunday, they claim that John Hartson is not on the list.

A Swans 'insider' is quoted "Moore is his number one choice. Roberto knows it will be hard to lure him to Swansea but he has set his sights on bringing him in as soon as possible"

The England Under-21 striker is out of contract at Villa Park at the end of this season and scored four times in the Premiership last season. Roberto says that he will not hurry to replace Lee and wants the right man rather than any man "We will never panic buy. I have huge confidence in the squad we have and will look at bringing in the right man"

Meanwhile Chairman Huw Jenkins has said that the club discussed the idea of paying Trundle more money to stay at the Liberty but felt that with Championship football being a bigger factor than money it was a pointless exercise. "We talked through the possibility of paying him a lot more money to stay with us as we were desperate to keep him. It seemed though that Championship football was the over-riding factor for Lee and when a player expresses his desire to move on then it's hard to stand in his way.

"We really hoped Lee would be celebrating promotion under Roberto this year but there was nothing more we could do.

"There's no doubt that any sum of money would not replace a personality and player like Lee. But you move on in football and we'll look to find a new striker."
