Super Swans Scale League Summit

Bournemouth 1 Swansea City 4

Evening Post

Warren Feeney grabbed a fine brace against his former club Bournemouth to send Swansea top of League One with a comprehensive 4-1 win at Dean Court.

Midfielder Ferrie Bodde gave Swansea the lead in the 15th minute when he curled home a free kick over the wall and into the top left hand corner.

Trinidad & Tobago defender Dennis Lawrence doubled his side's advantage in the 28th minute when he leapt highest to nod home Darren Pratley's corner.

Lee Bradbury got his side back in the game with his first home goal for the club after Lawrence brought down Danny Holland and the referee pointed to the spot, Bradbury making no mistake by firing into bottom right hand corner.

Feeney restored the two-goal advantage seven minutes from time with a penalty of his own after Marc Wilson handled in the box.

And Pratley played through Feeney in the 88th minute and the striker made no mistake as he took the ball past Neil Moss and finished from 12 yards.

In summary.... The ref had a shocker today. The corner for Lawrence's goal should have been a goal kick and the home crowd gave him so much stick that he evened it up a few minutes later by giving them a joke of a penalty. After getting just about everything else wrong from that point onwards he decided to even up the penalty count by giving us a penalty for... well I still don't know what it was for! Bodde's goal and Feeney's second were cracking goals and in truth, we should have had a few more today. Feeney was our MOTM (and not just for his goals) although Bodde and Pratley played as well as I've seen them play since Walsall away. Rangel was class again, as was Monk and Lawrence recovered from a shakey first 15 to have a decent game. I thought Painter was a little below par once again and Scotland had a nightmare. Butler and Anderson caused them problems all afternoon. All in all, a good display. But I thought we were starting to play a little too deep in the second half and I could sense an equaliser coming before the referee's early Christmas present got us going again. A good turnout of Jacks and, just before kick-off, they had to open the stand behind the goal to get us all in. About 1500 - 1800 I'd guess. We Are Top Of The League! Keep it up lads.
