Mark Rowlands looks forward to the trip to Plymouth as only he knows how

Oo-aaar its Ambrosiaaaaah, oo-aaar its Abrosiaaaaah sing the Swans as they head off to the land of the Pilgrims tomorrow to take on Plymouth on their own patch.   While the nation watches.   Here we go again.

On their own patch may be quite an appropriate term to use when looking ahead to this match with Plymouth being famous for garden tools.  If you do get down there with some time to spare then take the time to head to the local B&Q and pick up one of these tools famed the world over and mentioned in so many history books over time.   Just head towards the nearest assistant and ask for a Plymouth hoe.

And so its to the suburb of Cornwall that the Swans will head tomorrow against the third biggest team in Devon (fourth if you include Tiverton Town) at the ground that they imaginatively named Home Park - bet that took a lot of market research to come up with that one.   Wonder if they call their training ground practice park or something equally as shite.

Plymouth is of course where the Pilgrim fathers sailed from, presumably while the Pilgrim mothers were doing the ironing and when the pilgrim children were in school.  Sailing on the Mayflower (a boat would have been easier) they headed out from Plymouth and headed for Cape Cod which presumably is just off the coast of Iceland and where the idea for the frozen food chain came from.

As a result of that epic voyage a giant prawn can now be seen overlooking the harbour at Plymouth - quite what the significance of that is but again you would assume something do with Iceland, frozen food and basically stupid people?

Plymouth and Swansea are unique in the football league as being the only two clubs dull enough to pay £300,000 for Rory Rory never scory meaning they must have more money than sense or maybe the management duo of Kenny Jackett and Ian Holloway were indeed totally mad as hatters.

Carrying on the lack of imagination given to the names in Plymouth we have the suburbs of the city which are called Plymstock, Plymptson, Plymsole and Plywood.   In addition you have the great area of Mutley Plain which brings back happy memories of Wacky Races but that is enough of the British Women BMX champion at the Olympics for now.

Anyway for those heading to Cornwall tomorrow have a great time and for those of you watching on television remember you can always turn down the volume and listen to the commentary on Radio Wales for a more balanced view (heh heh heh)

Have a good un......
