Nottingham Forest winger Paul Anderson has thrown his toys out of the pram after being booed by Swans fans on the weekend

The 21 year old spent a season in South West Wales, scoring 10 times in the 2007/08 campaign before opting to join Championship rivals Forest the following season.

Saturday was the first time the former Liverpool midfielder had played at the Liberty since he scored for the Swans in a 4-1 demolition of Leyton Orient in 2008, and the 20 year old received a hostile reception from the home crowd.

And after the game, Anderson - clearly angered by the boos and chants - claimed that he not only deserved more respect but was glad he was playing for a 'bigger' and better club.

“It was my first time back here since I helped Swansea to promotion from League One and I was gutted with the reception I got.

“I expected some stick, but not what I heard. It's just coming from some jealous fans.

“There were these rumours going round I wanted to only play for Forest as it was close to my home.

“I'm a man myself and I make my own footballing decisions. My family don't live too far away from Nottingham, but that didn't come into my thinking.

“When I came to Swansea a few years back, I could have gone to a lot of other clubs near my home. It's just pathetic really and a joke.

"I deserved more respect. But it only proves I was right as we're a bigger club and higher in the league than they are.

“I chose to sign for Forest and I love it here – I know I made the right decision.”
