Refwatch Preview: Dale v Plymouth
Friday, 17th Jan 2014 17:09 by TVOS

Mark Brown will referee Dale for the second time this season when he takes charge of Saturday’s home match against Plymouth.

The Hull-based official was also the man in the middle at Accrington in September, a game which Dale won 2-1 despite having George Donnelly sent-off shortly before half-time.

Mr Brown’s last appearance at Spotland was in October 2012 for the 0-0 draw with Fleetwood in which Ashley Grimes missed a penalty and the visitors finished with ten men.

Currently in his fourth season as a league referee, this will be Mark’s seventh game involving Dale.

We first saw him in November 2010 at Spotland for the 3-3 draw with Swindon, while the following March he was in the middle for a 2-0 win at Hartlepool.

In April 2012 Mark refereed our final home game in League One, which ended in a 2-1 loss to MK Dons, while at the start of that campaign he was in charge of the goalless home draw with Carlisle.

So far this season he has refereed 18 games, showing 38 yellow cards and six red. His most recent fixture was Gillingham v Wolves a fortnight ago.
