Silva's Staying Put
Sunday, 23rd Mar 2014 11:49

Silva is adored by his fellow Spaniards but he has only one place in his heart-Manchester. He recieved a standing ovation when he played at the Nou Camp with City and also at Villarreal and Madrid. David is happy to brush of rumours about his City future and a possible return to Spain.

Silva said: “The Nou Camp ovation was very nice and it also happened when we played Villarreal and Madrid.

“It makes you very proud. But I’m very happy at City and I think that shows on the pitch as well.

“I’m happy in Manchester and happy with my life here. Life is good. The style this season helps not just me but all the players to go forward more.

“This is the most exciting City team I have played in. We beat Bayern Munich away and got through the group stages of the Champions League.

“We have moved forwards this season and we are going to fight to win the Premier League. People are now more respectful of City.

“The first thing now is I want to win the Premier League this year. And then I want to win the Champions League.”

“I’m very used to the rumours every summer — they have been around a long time.

“It’s just the way football works. But it’s just rumours after rumours after rumours.”
