City start their defence of the Capital One Cup against Sheffield Wednesday on wednesday evening at the the Etihad. Wednesday have the second best defensive record in the Championship and have only conceded four goals in eight games. City's League Cup record under Pellegrini is very impressive,conceding just two goals in six games in last seasons tournament.

Zabaleta will be unavailable for City, having been shown a red card during Sunday's 1-1 draw with Chelsea, while Jovetic and Fernando are doubtful with hamstring and groin injuries.Silva, Nasri and Aguero are injured for tomorrow night but only Nasri is doubtful for Saturday. Pellegrini will be sure to rest a few players but who we will just have to wait and see.

Former City youth player Keiren Westwood will start in goal for Sheffield Wednesday having saved a penalty against Reading on the weekend and keeping five clean sheets from eight games this season.
