Our resident pundits look ahead to this weekend's trip to Portman Road, and point out value in the other markets as well.

The Don
Notwithstanding a small profit from QPR’s draw at Molineux – a return I could have done without given the circumstances – profits have been diminished a little during the past week. Why I backed Alastair Cook to be England top bat I have no idea – he is just a poor man’s Robert Key after all.

Still, we are still ahead by the not inconsequential sum of £177.27 – you won’t get that kind of return from the f**king Post Office will you eh?

So what of this weekend, week 20 of the challenge I believe? Well, despite success on the last couple of occasions, I won’t pretend that I’m finding it easy to pick our results this season. And our trip to Ipswich is another game where you could make a case for all three outcomes. But, as I have to make a selection, I’ll do so based on value – and QPR to win at 7/2 with Betsson is a nice price despite the Portman Road outfit’s exemplary home record. Invest £20.

Over in Dubai there is some high class racing this weekend (I can see a nice little winter break for the Don in 2009) and my focus is on the UAE Derby at the Nad El Sheba track on Saturday. I have a sneaking suspicion that COCOA BEACH is over priced by Ladbrokes, so I’d suggest a modest wager of £10 at odds of 6/1.

Finally cricket, and the circus that will be the Indian Premier League. The market looks wide open with no obvious consensus amongst the layers. I think this offers value in the form of MUMBAI (£10 win @ 7/1 with Coral) and DELHI (£10 win @ 8/1 with Ladbrokes).

And that’s your small onion for this week. Best of luck.

For the weekend:
QPR to win, £20 at 7/2 with Betsson
Cocoa Beach, £10 at 6/1 Ladbrokes, UAE derby

For the notebook:
Mumbai to win the IPL, £10 at 7/1 with Coral
Delhi to win the IPL, £10 at 8/1 with Ladbrokes

Previously Advised:
Lucky 15 bet – remaining Bewley’s Berry in the Grand National Neil Robertson in the World Snooker Championship, and Adam Scott in the US Masters. (Note: John Part winning the PDC World Darts Championship already guarantees a profit – all four will return upwards of a third of a million pounds).
Shaun Murphy and Stephen Maguire to win the World Snooker Championship.
Kelami each way for the Grand National

Brian Power
No winners last week, we concede a last minute goal to cost us a couple of points and the mob from SW6 get themselves back in the race for the title. You could say a bad week but it was the best of my life as my wife gave birth to our daughter. My girl has already been warned of the nasty men from the Bridge. For these reasons I have not really had a chance to look at the weekends sporting action so I will go for us to beat Ipswich 3-1 40/1 Bet365 with another crack at Fitz Hall £10 at 40/1. Alongside that we will have a £10 on no goal scorer in the Derby Fulham Game 17/2 William Hill £10 on 1-1 in the Rangers Celtic game 15/2 Sportingbet and £10 ON Amber Brook in the 3.25 at Newbury at SP.

For the weekend:
Ipswich 1 QPR 3, 40/1 Bet365, £10
Fitz Hall to score first, 40/1 Bet365, £10
No goals Derby v Fulham 17/2 William Hill, £10
Rangers 1 Celtic 1, £10 at 15/2 Sportingbet
£10 on Amber Brook, SP, 3.25 Newbury
