Saints Already Have Their Bids In
Saturday, 11th Jul 2015 06:35

Saints are expecting to make another signing within the next 48 hours as they prepare for life without that bloke who went to Spurs.

Saints have already lodged bids with other lubes as they make signing a central defender their priority, they always had a plan B if Alderweireld did not return to St Mary's and that plan is already in full swing.

Les Reed has confirmed that the club has already launched bids for their main targets and they are hoping to see the fruits of that labour within 48 hours.

Reed though is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't, although Saints fans like to hear positive news, sometimes that can backfire when nothing happens, Reed would perhaps have been better to keep quiet until a signing was in the bag rather than set time scales hat if not reached can make the club look like it is failing in its strategy.

A decent guessing game as to who the new bloke might be. I'll stick my beak out and say Van Beek or Van Dijk from Celtic.

I always thought Toby was a slippery customer but now we have bids in with other 'lubes' I am really concerned.....

Darius Vaseline was a decent player when he was at Villa, but really hope we put in a bid for KY-Jelly Naughton
Sorry, couldn't resist

I keep being assured that 'Ron will pull more rabbits out of the hat.' Just hope we're not represented by half the cast of Watership Down this season. I've heard that 'Bright Eyes' is a bit injury prone!

After watching Saints on BT Sport I hope we have a lot of bids in. We were awful. I know its only pre-season but there isn't much time left. I'm glad we didn't play Werder Bremen. Something was wrong as Shane Long committed some petty fouls out of frustration and he's not normally like that. Have to say that was one of the most facile commentaries I've ever heard. Okay, the guy didn't have the team sheets but he had no knowledge of who any of the players were. He also thought Mane was being cheered at first, he thought Gazzaniga was Kelvin and he said that Stekelenberg was on loan, later saying we'd bought him. Morgan was missing, presumed Manchester bound. No Targett, either.

Agree with halftimeorange. We were shambolic in both games today. Ok, these are friendlies but there were no positives at all. Too early to judge the new players obviously but Gardos and Yoshida is not a defensive pairing I'd like to see in the prem, so definitely need a CB. Agree on commentator. He also kept mixing up Big Vic and Mane, despite the fact that they're totally different sizes and play in different positions.

We won all our pre season friendlies last year with what was then a makeshift team as well.
