Cork - We Have Different Game Plans
Sunday, 16th Aug 2015 11:36 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

I know it sound obvious but there is a massive importance in having different gameplans to counter the different opposition that we play week in week out so it is pleasing to hear that this is exactly what we currently have at Swansea.

There used to be much criticism of the team a few years back that we only had one way to play and if Plan A didn't work then we would generally lose the game as we had nowhere to turn when needing to do something different.

That was then though and this is now and the Swans are a different kettle of fish and seemingly able to adapt what we need to do to reflect the opposition and with 60 points from our last 40 Premier League games it is difficult to try and suggest that it isn't working.

Of course it helps that we currently have our best ever squad that seems to be getting better and better but that takes nothing away from the tactics.

Midfielder Jack Cork arrived at Swansea back in January but has featured in every Premier League game for the club since and he credits the Swans success to their different gameplans

“The manager always talks about having different plans for different games,” said the English midfielder.

“The idea was to press Newcastle, try and get in their faces and use our home crowd to our advantage.

“It was a different tactic to what we used at Chelsea, but it worked and everyone is happy with the win.

“We’ve shown we’re a strong team in the first two games, even when it has been 11 against 11 we have created chances and scored goals.

“We’ve started the season brightly and hopefully we can go on from here.”
