Newcastle Done And Dusted Now It's Sunderland
Monday, 17th Aug 2015 06:30 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

It is time now to bury the weekend win over Newcastle into the history books and turn our focus onto the visit to Sunderland this Saturday where we will look to build on what is an excellent start to the season.

It is definitely fair enough to say that the two sides that will meet at the Stadium of Light could not have had more different starts to the season. Sunderland appear to be a club in crisis already which sounds mad after just two games but after two poor defeats they find themselves at the bottom of the early Premier League table and being written off by many.

The boos that rung around the Stadium of Light on Saturday could well be music to the Swans ears and there were plenty of empty seats for the last 30 minutes of the game such was their frustration at what they were watching.

The Swans of course have had the opposite start with plaudits everywhere as we drew at Chelsea and beat Newcastle on Saturday seeing us currently sat in the top 5 in the division.

Much like we couldn't afford to be complacent against Newcastle at home we cannot afford to be complacent on Saturday and I am sure that we will hear much about that in the build up to the week. The good news from our point of view is that I think there will be much more focus on Dick Advocaat and Sunderland rather than us and there will be much written about the way that they have started the season.

That in theory will suit us as we go about our own preparations but we have every reason to head North with massive optimism and I genuinely at the moment cannot see any reason why we would not return with another three points in the bag.

The irony is I am not sure that I can see this game turning out to be as easy as Saturday's was but time will, as ever, tell.
