Taylor - Montero Is A Nightmare To Play Against

As a defender I would imagine that Neil Taylor wakes up most mornings and thanks his lucky stars that he only has to face Jefferson Montero in training especially after watching him wreak havoc in the opening two Premier League games of the season.

Montero has effectively set up two of the four goals that the Swans have scored this season with his wide play but more importantly he has caused havoc in both Chelsea and Newcastle defences, giving Branislav Ivanovic at Chelsea not a moment's peace and causing the sending off of Daryl Janmaat at the weekend.

His pace and play has attracted much praise already with Rio Ferdinand believing he should be a target for the top four clubs with others just focusing on the fact that he is one of those players who is not afraid to take on his man.

Of course these things are not new to us having seen him cause the same problems last season particularly against Arsenal and Aston Villa at the Liberty but maybe because of the stage he did it on against Chelsea it seems to have made more people sit up and take notice.

Taylor though admits that he is a "nightmare" to play against and also believes that he was targeted last weekend although it backfired if he was after the red card for Janmaat.

"He is a nightmare to play against," said Taylor.

"Teams will obviously target him and you could see Janmaat tried to and wanted to get the ball off him even before he got in his stride and that's a difficult thing to do with Jeff.

"He is difficult to play against. I have to put up with it every day in training day so I don't feel sorry for anybody. He is in good form at the moment.

"He moves the ball when you think he is least likely to move the ball and it's difficult to predict and know what he is going to do.

"Even when you know what he's going to do it's still hard to stop as he takes you down the line and keeps going and then he will cut in."
