QPR v Preston Betting Preview
QPR v Preston Betting Preview
Friday, 16th Oct 2009 19:36

As QPR return to action on Saturday our two intrepid betting pundits are welcomed back to LFW with their hints and tips ahead of the Preston game and a weekend of sporting action.

The totals remain a little distorted with a couple of outstanding Lucky 15 bets confusing them. At the moment Lewis is on -£131.32 and Brian is on £48.55.

Brian Power
The International break came in time for me as it has been a barren couple of weeks.

We host Preston on Saturday and without Rowly or Ben Watson we may struggle against a team who will be in the mix at the end of the season. I will go for a 1-1 draw. In midweek the fake hoops travel to W12, Reading are finding life tougher without Steve Coppell and I am going for a home win and will go for a 3-1 to the R’s.

Our football acca this week is a patent which consists of cash strapped Accrington at home to cash strapped Bournemouth. The Cherries are top of the league but have injury worries and so are worth opposing. Charlton have not scored in three games and I will take a price on Huddersfield to turn them over. Finally West Ham have not won in the league since the opening day and I think that win will continue at Stoke.

In the Champion stakes at Newmarket Aiden O’Brien can collect the prize with Fame and Glory we will double it up with a greyhound in the Irish Laurels at Cork on Saturday night Oran Classic at 2/1 should make all from Trap 4. Finally in the Caeserwitch I will chuck a £5 on Nanton.

Good Luck

You know when you’re out and about and you see that average guy with the absolute stunner on his arm and you think to yourself ‘how?!’ well there’s a good chance that guy may be me. QPR games and me, I’d like to think have something in common. Both of us do not score much but when we do, corr blimey we score at a very high standard.

This is in relation to another QPR game failing to have more than 2.5 goals in, the game against Swansea. (the week where I brought this to the forefront the game contained seven goals!) If you are regular reader to this column you will understand that I have been banging on about making money from the shortcoming of goals in Rangers matches.

The loss at Swansea last weekend meant that 9/10 QPR games have had less than 2.5 goals in, now resulting in a £20 single stake on each match backing the 2.5 or less would have resulted in a about £180 profit. The longer the absence of goals continues, the more I will be regretting not backing what I would like call my ‘system’. At least this system makes more sense than Derren Brown’s so called prediction of the lottery numbers AFTER they had been drawn, what a tool.

In regards to the Preston game, Rangers need to overcome the loss of their central midfield paring that has done so well over the last few weeks. Buz needs to start in the middle alongside Leigetwood otherwise it could be a long afternoon. If he does then 9/2 to score at anytime will take up a lot of my budget. If Magilton does the unthinkable a plays Gavin ‘slows the game down’ Mahon then Rangers to lose will be the selection. Just to let you know I will be experiencing the game from the lofty heights from W12 hospitality this weekend. Padded seat and everything, I’ll let you know of my experience next week.

Bit of a brief section this week on the value elsewhere as I’m in a bit of a rush. There’s a decent meeting at Newmarket this weekend, so it’s a Yankee with four selections. Also, Jensen Button can make a hero of himself with a win this weekend, so a patriotic punt on him at 14/1 is also a decent bet.

For the weekend:
£20 on QPR vs Preston to have 2.5 or less goals in – 4/5 Betfair
£10 on Buzsaky to score 1st (If he plays CM and Mahon doesn’t) – 9/2 with Paddy Power/£10 on Preston to win (If Mahon plays CM) – 13/5 with Boylesports

£9 on Jensen Button to win Brazilian GP – 14/1 with Bet 365

£1 Win Yankee (all at Newmarket)
2.25 – Xtension - 15/2 with Betfred
3.00 – Sariska – 5/1 with Bet365
3.40 – Darley Sun – 7/1 with Ladbrokes
4.15 – Distinctive – 6/1 with Bet365
