West Brom v QPR Betting Preview - Part Two
West Brom v QPR Betting Preview - Part Two
Monday, 14th Dec 2009 16:11

Lewis Jones returns with a look ahead to tonight's seemingly hopeless trip to West Brom and some value available elsewhere in the midweek markets.

“When all around you is turning to shit; it is your job stand up and be counted.”
That famous saying was conjured up by legendary Chelmsford Youth Alliance winning manager John Williams in 2003, during a spell when the infamous Woodham Radars title push had suffered the loss of two of their top players through injury. Williams steadied the ship and Radars went onto win the title with a last day victory of Hendersons FC – I’m sure you all remember it.

If only Williams was still in football management now – he would be the perfect man to re-install the work ethic and the passion into our flagging side, as Williams has other commitments – the next best option was probably Steve Gallen and Birch.

The pair is QPR through and through; this hopefully can be a positive thing for the dressing room. I’m not necessary expecting us to go to WBA and win, but with all that has happened over the past week I’m expecting Rangers to go out their and give it their all, fly into tackles, win second balls and show the commitment that the R’s fans deserve.

From a betting view-point, Clive hit the nail on the head – either Rangers will put in a gutsy performance and produce a positive result or the Baggies will get an early goal and steamroll our shaky defence, winning by 3 or 4.

The betting balance is getting out of control at the moment and with Christmas approaching, my LFW family may be tucking into a Pukka Pie instead of a roasted turkey if I don’t pull something out the bag.

So long shots is the new formula this week and plenty of them - £50 quid to spend, let’s put Clive’s prediction to the test.

For tonight:
£5 – WBA to win 5-1 (80/1 Bluesquare)
£5 – WBA to win 4-0 (40/1 Bluesquare)
£5 – WBA to win 4-1 (33/1 Bluesquare)
