Thread of the Week - Miserable, negative, pessimistic
Thread of the Week - Miserable, negative, pessimistic

It's been quite a while since we had a really good long rant on the RamZone MB - but marklaa made up for the absence with a first rate one!

There certainly hasn't been much to cheer about this season but marklaa is taking some hope from a couple of decent performances (despite no win) and looking forward to next season and believing that we will come good.

Not everyone concurs of course.

There are many people who believe that Paul Jewell is a part of the problem - whilst others (the majority it seems) are thinking that he has inherited a very poor squad who lack any motivation and who are putting in very little effort. Part of the problem indeed must be that some of the players know they are surplus to requirements and have given up trying.

The defeat *at home* to Aston Villa was spectacularly bad - but we've had those moments before: 0-5 to Leeds under Jim Smith, 0-4 against Leicester in 15 minutes and 0-3 to Bristol Rovers. Any side managed by Martin O'Neill is going to be organised and efficient. Villa need the goal difference which may prove vital for European qualification.

Roy Carroll, so often a star since he arrived at Pride Park, had a bad day - but he was clearly fouled for the first Villa goal and the second was almost certainly offside. (The other 4 looked ok though!) The problem is that Derby heads drop as soon as they concede and the capitulation is reminiscent of those walls of Jericho. sixmileram wasn't very impressed with Carroll anyway when s/he initiated a thread about him!

There were some good threads this week on RamZone, and any one of several could have been selected for the Thread of the Week.

Camelogue has had a good week, his/her threads of 'hitting the nail on the head' and 'serious questions' led to some good discussions. DCFC4LIFE is another poster who is optimistic and who tells us that we can 'look forward to next season'. Well it really cannot get much worse!

Thanks to all the posters on RamZone who are starting to build up our reputation again and especially to marklaa for initiating the Thread of the Week. RamZone welcomes comments of all kinds and reasoned debate about all things DCFC. Feel free to join in!
