Interview with a Bradford fan
Interview with a Bradford fan
Thursday, 17th Jan 2008 22:19

Our pre-match interviewer heads to West Yorkshire and speaks to a Bantams supporter to find out what life is like in the basement and other assorted questions.

1) Who are you, and how long have you been watching Bradford? My name is Steve and I've been following Bratfud for over forty years.

2) How are you finding life watching City in the basement division? To be honest the 'Rochdale
' league is far friendlier than the Premier, so much so that I tend to go to more away matches than I ever did in the 'money' league.

3) Given that in the last ten years you've watched your side beat the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and
Chelsea, can you really get excited beating the likes of Dagenham, Notts County and Chester? Beating the big boys mentioned will always be lasting memories, but I still jump up and down and shake my rattle when we beat minnows such as Rochdale.

4) Stuart McCall seems to have had a tough time as manager. If he was judged purely on his management and not on his history with the club, would he have been given the sack by now? We're Bratfud fans 'ere not
Newcastle. Although lower mid table is somewhat a disappointment, I don't think Stuart would've been given his P45 just yet.

5) What’s the first thing that comes into your head when you hear of
Rochdale? Gracie Fields, Lisa Stansfield, Cyril Smith and that nice looking lass from Brookside who kissed that ginner lass on the lips.

6) Any memories from previous games against Rochdale? I've been to Spotland umpteen times and I really enjoy the fare served up by that chippie near the ground. On my last visit a couple of years ago in the league cup I was impressed by the sporting nature of the Daleys, who applauded Dean Windass on his hat trick.

7) Who should we look out for in your side this weekend? Omar Daley (nice surname eh?) he is faster than Forest Gump.

8) Who is the best player you’ve come up against so far this season? Hyde - Peterborough and Garry Thompson - Morecambe

9) What's the worst thing you've seen in League Two this season? The standard of refereeing is carp..... Even the blindsmen are utter, utter 'see you hen teas'

10) Will you be applying for the manager’s job at Gigg Lane? Not on your Nellie! If things weren't going well BOTH their fans would get on my back.

11)
Have City fans given up on the season now, or are there still eyes looking both up and down at the league table? Pretty much, but we live in hope that our 100% record in 2008 can be maintained, pushing us towards the 7th place spot.

12) Any predictions for the game? Rochdale
1 - 2 Bratfud. Opening goal from Ben Muirhead, afore a brace from Peter Thorne securing the points for the mighty Bantams.
