![]() Thursday, 9th Jul 2009 16:20 Australian centre-half Chris Coyne has left the U's after a mutual termination of his contract was agreed. Speaking on the club’s website, Coyne said: "Unfortunately, after eighteen months here, it's time to move on. "It was made clear that I wasn't going to play week in, week out and I felt that I had to look at that and address it. "Also, there isn't much of a chance for the Australian manager to watch League One football but in Australia, I'm guaranteed to play 27 games in front of him." The 30-year-old is now expected to sign for Australian A-League side Perth Glory. Coyne joined the U's from Luton Town in January last year for a then club record fee of £350,000. In his 18-months at United, he made a total of 38 appearances (35 starts/3 subs) and scored one goal. He leaves as the club's most capped player, having made seven appearances for the Socceroos.
