Bruce: Fülöp on Cusp of Joining Town

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce says he expects Márton Fülöp’s move to Town to go through. The Hungarian international keeper has been talking personal terms with the Blues for more than a week.

Bruce says he is happy for the switch to be completed despite having a number of goalkeepers out injured at present: “Márton Fülöp is on the cusp of joining Ipswich — talks are going on chairman-to-chairman. It looks like it will go through and I’m not going to stop that one.”

Fülöp looks likely to have to take a pay-cut to join Town and the clubs may have to settle the remaining year of the 27-year-old’s Black Cats contract, with a fee of £750,000 understood to have been agreed.
