Leeds face relegation to Northern Counties East after Gunter stamp!
Leeds face relegation to Northern Counties East after Gunter stamp!

Sorry I could not resist blowing this further out of proportion!!!

Leeds United today faced the prospect of a bleak future in the Northern Counties East League.

AFC Emley, Liversedge and Pickering Town will likely to be on the menu next season as calls grew for United to be expelled from the Football League after what one official described as "the latest indiscretion" - which saw Forest darling Chris Gunter stamp on the foot of Sanchez Watt.

A O.L.D Fartt, a spokesman for the League said "Enough is enough! Gunter was merely sportingly trying to compress a divot on the pitch and mistook Watt's foot for one. Watt's reaction was indefensiable as was his team-mates who piled in like the OK Corral. They should be relegated to the Northern Counties East for such despicable behaviour."

Mr Fartt continued his tirade against the unpopular Yorkshire club allegedly owned by the unpopular Ken Bates for three and a half hours, mentioning Billy Bremner, the Bradford Chip van, bribes and Don Revie's appointment as UAE Manager amongst other crimes against humanity.

Mr Fartt concluded "We thought we had em' in 2007 (when the club entered administration) - this is the final straw. Throw the book at em'".

Gunters actions were also praised in the local Notts Evening News, editor Kenny Al-Megrahi said "Gunter's evasive action in stamping on what he thought was a divot avoided a potentially career threatening injury."

Forest have not got off scot-free and their manager Billy Davies is likely to face a hefty fine for being a whining Scottish tosser. Already Nottingham legends are planning a benefit concert to pay for the fine, with top acts Su Pollard and Black Lace already confirmed to play at Sneinton Working Mens club next weekend.

A meat bingo however will be the star attraction on the night with celebrity caller and thinking-mans lager lout the Rt Hon Ken Clarke MP. The event will be staged in the Justin Fashanu Suite, kick-off 7.30pm

(Btw Forest and Leeds charged for failing to control their players/Gunter charged separately for violent conduct. The clubs must plead by 4pm Friday, however Gunter has until 6pm tomorrow to admit or deny the charge!).

You're right that it's a gross over-reaction from the FA to charge both teams. Apart from Gunter's stamp it was just a lot of pushing and shoving, certainly not a mass altercation on the scale of the Forest v. Derby game last season. For Leeds to be charged with anything is ridiculous!
