The latest agents' fees report has been published by the Football League and has revealed that United were the fourth highest spenders in League One last season, splashing £138,551 on agent fees.

The fees were in relation to 19 transfers/registrations, seven contract renewals, five contract cancellations and 12 loans - in all 43 transactions.

The figure is up by £90k on the previous season where the U's spent £46,850 on agent fees, but is just over half what was spent in the 2007/8 Championship relegation season (£247,480).

Overall £2,241,771 was spent on agent fees in League One last season. Southampton topping the pile spending over £400k, followed by Norwich City (£381k) and Leeds United (£335k). Only three League One clubs didn't spend on agents, these were Exeter City, Tranmere Rovers and Stockport County.
