I don't get the feeling the feud with Robinson is over.

We'll see him again.

Brannagan ‘Set to Join’ Blackpool

Championship club Blackpool have triggered the release clause in Cameron Brannagan’s contract, according to the Oxford Mail.

The Seasiders, who showed interest in the midfielder throughout last season, are believed to have met the club’s seven-figure fee. The club saw several bids rejected in the past.

Former U’s boss Michael Appleton, who is now in charge at Bloomfield Road, will hope the 26-year-old can push the club up the second tier.

Blackburn and QPR were also reportedly interested in the midfielder, as were several other second-tier sides last season, but it appears the Seasiders have won the race.

Brannagan joined the U’s in January 2018 and has scored 29 goals in 188 appearances. The midfielder has been one of Karl Robinson’s most consistent players so losing him just two days before their league opener at Derby County will be a huge blow.

Now, the focus will be on recruiting a new addition, with the club previously linked with Liverpool youngster, Tyler Morton.

What on earth's happened here? Have we been stitched up?

It's not the news I wanted to wake up to.

After the summer we've had, this kind of balls up's the last thing we need.

Oxford must have offered him a better deal.

Quite rightly the club do their business behind closed doors and no one knows any details about what's happened in any of the pre-season setbacks.

Mayne there are genuine reasons for our misfortune or it could be a shit show.

I've always been big on trust / support and even backed Grayson until the very end.

As I said, nobody knows what's happening but I'm suspicious now and wouldn't be surprised to find out that there's something wrong within the club and that there's a reason for all these things that've been going on.

One thing I am sure about is that any feel good factor or momentum surrounding BFC has evaporated and the Brannagan signing would have turned this around.

The plus side is that we've got a settled squad who form a tight unit and know each others' games. However, I'm worried about the forthcoming season and right here and now I'd take finishing 1 place above relegation on goal difference with the last kick of the last match next May.
