Exocet missiles
at 11:54 4 May 2022

Its un-confirmed by the French but its being rumoured that these missiles had a dis-arm function, so they could never be used against the French.

Most of the 255 troops we lost on the Falklands, including those Welsh guards, were killed by these things.

Typical France if its true

Make Notts Safe
at 11:11 4 May 2022

A Conservative police and crime commissioner who pledged to crack down on speeding has been caught breaking a 30mph limit five times within a 12-week period.

The PCC for Nottinghamshire police, Caroline Henry, admitted the offences, including two committed on consecutive days, at a previous hearing in February at Nottingham magistrates court.

Magistrates were told that Henry, who is the wife of the Broxtowe MP Darren Henry, had written a letter to the court saying she was “very sorry, embarrassed and ashamed”.

Her defence solicitor Noel Philo said the letter was written on “advice I did not give”.

The 52-year-old, who was elected to the post in May 2021, was caught speeding in a blue Mercedes and a silver Lexus with a personalised number plate in 30mph zones at four locations in Nottingham in March, May and June last year.

Court documents relating to the charges she has admitted show Henry was caught speeding twice near a primary school in Daybrook, Nottingham, as well as roads in Chilwell, Beeston and the city’s A610.

Speed cameras clocked the PCC‘s speed as high as 40mph in a 30mph zone, with other excess speeds recorded at 35mph and 38mph.

Wales games on Viaplay from 2024
at 18:56 27 Apr 2022

Just saw this on the Beeb news:

Nordic-based streaming service Viaplay has won exclusive rights to show Wales matches from 2024 in a significant shake-up of live international football.

As part of a four-year partnership with UEFA, Viaplay will show European qualifiers for Euro 2028 and World Cup 2026 from 2024, along with UEFA Nations League and friendly matches. The move means Wales matches will no longer be shown on Sky Sports or, it seems, S4C.

Viaplay has since confirmed that it plans to offer Welsh language coverage, and has also said that some matches will be shown free-to-air. It's also not clear just how much it will cost fans, many of whom will already be shelling out for subscriptions to services such as Sky Sports, BT Sport and Premier Sport in a bid to catch their favourite teams.

Drinking in the stands
at 11:38 25 Apr 2022

Do you want it back? I don't TYVM

Drinking in seats at football grounds could be reinstated as part of a fan-led review into the game

While still permitted in the concourses at football stadiums, drinking alcohol in seats has been banned since 1985 to stem hooliganism in the game; former sports minister Tracey Crouch, who is leading a supporter-led review into football, will recommend changes to that policy

Countdown

Today's loser, Anna, bless her, must be the worst I've ever seen. To be fair, the boy is good, she picked up 6 points on one word, when she tied with him late on.

Now I'm no genius but I normally get at least one of the number games, which would get even me 10 points.

She didn't declare on 3 of them but she did on this one...

the 6 numbers were:

100 25 7 2 8 1

for those that don't know, you can add, subtract, multiply and divide using any number of those numbers just once to get the random target, you don't need to use them all.

she declared

791

the target was

794

now for the life of me, I can't work out how she got there, yes I can get there subtracting the 7 + 2 from 800 but if I subtracted just the 7, then I'd be 2 closer.

I can even get to 794 by multiplying the 100 by 7, so she got me baffled

my easy way
8 * 100 then get the 6 difference by 7-1

or using the 7 way

7 * (100 + 8 + 2) = 770 then add 25 and minus the 1

I'm off to have a lie down, my head hurts

A London Conservative Association chair has resigned after he said he "could not rule out" that he was once pictured in Nazi military uniform.

The image is said to show Colin Davis from a number of decades ago and was sent to Jewish News this week.

After it emerged, the Enfield Southgate Conservative Association said he was "no longer a member of the Conservative Party", nor a local election candidate.

Mr Davis told Jewish News he had "no recollection" of the occasion "at all".

He told the paper he could not recall dressing up as a Nazi, but added that "there were various wild parties, very perverse themes expressed… I can't absolutely rule it out".

Companies in Wales will now face fines if its their rubbish that has to be cleaned up.

Will this mean firms like McDonalds will now use plain packaging?

On a Saturday night in town, I can see as much rubbish from Chick-o-land or any other independent on Wind St as I do McDs, but I'm sure its only one the Welsh government will be charging for the clean up.

You might have problems with Qatar but we'll be in the hat

BBC One will show it from 16:45-18:00 on Friday

Pot 1 (seeded teams): Qatar, Brazil, Belgium, France, Argentina, England, Spain, Portugal.

Pot 2: Mexico, Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Uruguay, Switzerland, USA, Croatia.

Pot 3: Senegal, Iran, Japan, Morocco, Serbia, Poland, South Korea, Tunisia.

Pot 4: Cameroon, Canada, Ecuador, Saudi Arabia, Ghana, Wales/Scotland/Ukraine, Costa Rica/New Zealand, UAE/Australia/Peru.

I guess we'd be in Pot 3 if we had qualified

2 Ospreys players suspended
at 09:12 9 Mar 2022

What a couple of plonkers

The Ospreys have suspended two players after degrading footage appeared online showing one of them thrusting himself against a sleeping homeless person.

The video, posted on Matthew Aubrey's Snapchat account, shows team-mate Callum Carson approaching a rough sleeper in Cardiff city centre before lying with his arm around them and thrusting his hips against the unidentified person from behind. The person appears to be asleep and unaware of what is unfolding.

The incident happened in a doorway on The Friary in Cardiff, a popular area with many bars and restaurants, just yards from the Hilton Hotel.
