There's a recent South Park about that if you haven't seen it. I greatly enjoy without really understanding. Which is probably the point.

I haven't had a chance to see the highlights yet but the commentary when the winner went in is great on its own.

March should be interesting for the entire island, once UEFA figure out what these pots are about.

Watched the first 3 episodes of The Beast in Me this weekend. Good stuff but I'm expecting Carrie Mathison to wake up in a pool of sweat at the end - the whole thing was a dream and she's still in Iraq.

The only question she'll have is why Mike from Breaking Bad was in it.

Both actors give pretty much identical performances to those roles anyway, which is no bad thing.

Doesn't 100% just mean it's raining? Something to do with the dew point.

I did my geography A level twice - I had all the knowledge but very poor exam technique.

That was my excuse anyway. Now I don't even have the knowledge (LOL etc).

Expectations for the rest of the season

For the not playing Kolli one, isn't that a decision beyond JS in many ways? If we're to believe some of the talk anyway. Maybe that one isn't on him. Daft either way.

Esquerdina has probably suffered from RND coming in, but he has to be played at the right time against the right opposition, not thrown back in out of his depth which was a dreadful call.

Morgan is the one I understand even less. Yes he had a mare against Coventry but who didn't, and I don't remember him featuring much until 10 mins at the end against Southampton, which was a game that would have suited him I thought, and he looked sharper and more direct than Varane in those 10 mins anyway.

Or play him at RB if you're looking to move Jimmy over and you don't want to or can't put Mbengue there. Morgan should be playing more anyway I think.

Anyway to answer the original question I don't feel that positive at this point. There seem to be cracks all over the place. Think we'll flirt with relegation but be relatively safe by Easter, i.e. yes, not very original: 16th.

Another one was Scotbloc cooking chocolate out of the bakery drawer.

It came in good size squares too. Easy money.

That simple delicacy had completely dropped out of my lunchtime rotation - had forgotten all about it!

Will be getting it back on the menu immediately.

I try to live my life not knowing who a lot of primetime tv celebrities are, and Tess Daly is another.

So thank you Tess, for your many years of dedicated service to...that.

The BBC

The BBC has a huge profile and still a lot of influence on the news. More influence than a lot of people would like it to. I listen to their radio programmes more than I'D like to really, often due to lack of imagination in finding alternatives.

It puts out giant amounts of content every day, and some of that is probably tinged with a certain amount of bias. That's not excusing it.

One question I have around all this is, has more controversial info than the Jan 6th Panorama come out?The letter published in the Telegraph is apparently 14 pages long. FWIW I think that Jan 6th edit was misleading, hard to get away from that and not holding their hands up was a very bad move. If there isn't anything else new I'd be more sceptical about what's behind this. Nick Robinson seems to think people like Robbie Gibb have been pushing the agenda. No idea.

Saying all that, I still side with the Konk view though. You need to take everything you hear/read/see with a grain of salt these days. I don't see a reason not to do that with the BBC, but they're still better than most of the others.

Butterscotch Shirley?

The introduction of supernoodles was an exciting time - a colourful packet of processed chewy joy. Almost like an apology for sitting through years and years of boiled potatoes - steamed up windows and the extractor fan contributing nothing.

Saying that, between 1987 and 1989 I mostly ate only toasted cheese and ham baps. Taken up to my room where the air was slightly less humid.

Bad mistake, his fault, but watching the highlights he's the only one working his hardest to try to fix the situation.

Morrison (who I like a lot) didn't engage Robinson properly at all once it happened, especially since the other attacking player was covered by Dunne - just waves his leg at it when it's all too late.

Madsen and Varane jogging back treating it like a training session. What happened to that certain number of seconds where they're supposed to be busting a gut to get the ball back? It's all just zonal shyte and 'over to you Claude'.

I'll have more appetite to criticise Mbengue once that team starts defending as a team.

Perfectly true Gazza, but it's not only the right times in the game - I think it's also looking at how the season's going and focusing on getting the basics right before they start elaborating. Especially at the back.

Exposing players who are on a bad collective run to what Julien might call excessive 'dannnnger' can't be a good thing.

One must agree Hendrix.

And I thought Steve Bould doing the defensive coach had to lead to measureable, demonstrable, quantifiable improvements - but we're still gash.

Yeah that's the thing - more learned football-thinkers than I had suggested that maybe Julie pushed to ditch the game model after Coventry. Or at least parts of it, including the dicking about at the back bit.

So was it only ever a temporary pause? Have the model folk been advocating to bring it back? Did they all just forget and revert to type?

Mental.

I thought part of our indian summer was down to not doing that anymore? So why the fcuk are we doing it?!

We're not sucking them in and beating their press with a cheeky killer ball. We're scaring the shit out of ourselves and our already terrified keeper, running around like penguins on ice hoping to finally get it out to Jimmy so he can wallop it up the line to nobody.

WHY????

"George Hirst’s weekend rampage means no team has conceded more headed goals than QPR this season (7). The next worse is Derby, Swansea and Ipswich who have all shipped five.'

With a CB playing at RB and Steve Bould's grizzled old head coaching them all week.

Unbelievable.
