QPR - State of Play

4.5 year contract for Fiekd, good God, no wonder they couldn't give him away in the summer.
If a player is going to be given this sort of contract at least play him, yet we are also repeating it with Kolli, which is even worse considering his age.

Is anyone actually in charge of all this as it doesn't make any sense.

Expectations for the rest of the season

For summary then.

We have Cook and Nardi both playing, but leaving at the end of the season.
Fields contract extended twice, but only used as a emergency LB.
Frey contract extended, but only really suitable to play The Mummy, not football.
Kolli. 4 year deal not playing.
Smyth. Contract ending, but playing.
Morgan. U20 England but rarely playing.

It's all looking a bit omnishambles. I'm amending my expectation to include that Nourry will sack JS in May, just because he can. Deflection.

I'm not sure why, but the penny hasn't dropped with some on here, Field will be having very limited game time this season.
The only games he has started since Coventry have been at LB.
If that doesn't say it all, then bar having a whopping flashing sign pointing to his head saying 'Not Wanted', then nothing will.

Very much so.

Why was no CM signed until Hayden, because the decision had already been taken to go with the players they had.

Not fair in the slightest.
Saito was very up and down last season, so no real change. Madsen? Hmm, maybe because they have no other CM who can pass resulting in him becoming undropable.

Still, if you decide to go with a midfield of Varane, Madsen, Morgan and Tuck, but then panic after game 3 and jettison one out on loan, drop the other youngster and then sign Varane/Field clone Hayden..... what do you expect?

Nicky Johns. Remember as a kid him being backup to Seaman in the late 80s.
Only played 10 games for us, hence I remember little of him. Charlton GK in my Panini 86 sticker album.

It's sad, but if a footballer is having to release a statement like that age 20, then perhaps he is being badly advised and has got the wrong people around him.
I've got some sympathy with the club on this.

Lack of money and priorities, I suppose. I can understand them having to pick and choose where to strengthen and where to pray and hope. Yet buying Saito ahead of a CM still seems extravagant, especially as Kolli was meant to be the next big thing.

The manager, though, with this incessant rotation, is worrying. The players don't look particularly happy either. Did he do this at previous clubs?

I said top half/top 10 if we signed a really good CM and that we would struggle if we didn't. We didn't.

I also failed to appreciate how much JS was adverse to actually playing the best 11 for more than one game.

Only watched the 2nd half, but purely based on that 45 minutes QPR reek of late Cifuentes era style and ambition.
We looked good for 15/20 minutes and then Utd took control and really should have won.
As soon as Frey came on then that was that as we ain't scoring.
Rather than predicting the score can we start predicting how many changes JS will make to the lineup?

Gotta feeling Nourry will pull the trigger on JS at seasons end.
Game model - dumped
Young player development - nah
Attacking intent - Frey (but why the new contract?)

1 or 2 changes due niggling injuries, tactical or form I totally get, but this incessant 5 or 6 changes per game is madness and killing us. I always thought a good team was built on partnerships to create understanding.
In a way we want more injuries to stop this continual rotation, and it's no surprise our best run came when he couldn't meddle as much.

As for Kone, well, only QPR would buy a sought-after goal scorer and play him deep.

I think JS is trying to be clever. Look at me with the team rotation, inverted wingers, CM at LB, and ST as 10.

Nice height, but doing well. Feel more confident with him claiming the ball.
Fingers crossed.

WTF is this team.

3rd choice GK - it's Hamer time.
3rd LB in 3 games
Dembele

How many changes is that? 5 again? Fck me, no wonder they are playing like strangers.
Fast losing patience with JS.

And Frey is?

I can say with 100% certainty that Kolli is not the only youngster to have been treated poorly by Nourry/Williams.

Don't excuse him just because he isn't 6 foot. The reason he gives up, shrugs his shoulders or waves his hands isn't due to lack of height, its lack of character.

Every player should be busting a gut to get back, take a yellow or be prepared to get hurt to prevent a goal.

Dembele has form with this and he shouldn't be anywhere near the first team. Gutless.

Good their ages have been highlighted as it's easy to forget just how young they are.

I like both Mbengue and Morrison and I hope JS doesn't resort to the lazy option of bringing grandad Cook back in. My issue is Dunne as the team looks disjointed and lopsided with him in the team at RB.
I like my RBs to have pace and be able to recover and whip a cross in, Barnsley like.

Well if he goes with Field at LB then that is three different LBs in three games.

Continuity and earning the shirt seem to have gone the way of the 'game model'. No wonder the team looks disjointed.

I did explain the history of why he was playing RB, but he was double shocked he was our captain.

We have a young lad in Morgan who played CB at Spurs Academy, who played well in the couple of games at RB at the start, yet is stuck on the bench. He has a bit of pace, can actually pass a ball, can tackle, and doesn't look like The Mummy when he runs.

It's just mad JS is sticking with Dunne. It's embarrassing.
