Yes Poku now due back after the International Break or when Skytnet takes over the world killing all humans with functioning hamstrings, leaving Poku as the sole human survivor. Esquerdinha allegedly had a massive strop in training and was dropped from the squad so definitely Field in for RND.
Other than that, I am guessing it may well be the same starting line up. I don't think there will be more than 2 changes. Certainly no more than 11.
He's a very different type of player but his whole work ethic, speed and application reminds me a lot of the first version we got of Jamie Mackie. Really good signing for us and just has a great attitude.
I hope you're right. My depression is that we can't just grind out boring points when we need them, again. Every season kind of feels like Goundhog Day.
He picked the team most of us wanted, with Mbenge in it.
The manager says the problem has been the lack of intensity. He's right. He has to take part of the blame but the players really have to shoulder most of it. After we went 2 down we woke up. It was too late but we saw what we should have seen for the previous 70 plus minutes.
That horrible lack of consistency and fairly feeble mentality still haunts us every season.
I really thought we had turned a corner. Let's face it, he picked the team most of us asked for.
I'm struggling to understand how we can go from being a very competent, solid looking, attacking side after a few initial howler games and then, after an international break, completely fall apart all over again. That's now something like 2 wins at home in 11? How is it possible to be this much of a Jekyll and Hyde side? It doesn't seem to matter what players we have and what manager/coach we have. It is always the same. Absolutely no 'boring' grind it out consistency.
Stephan, if you look at his history, has a very similar cycle of winning and losing cycles to Marti. I mentioned it when he came in jest. Win 6 or 8 then lose 6-8 and repeat. I commented that he was a bit of a like for like in his winning and losing run history.
I hope we somehow get something out of Saturday because what looked like being a relatively anxiety free mid table season now looks a lot more difficult if they just keep losing.
And just to repeat, he pretty much picked the starting 11 we all wanted!
Well, this is the side we asked the manager for and he's given it to us, so it's now on the team to step up and give the manager and the fans the performance they deserve.
