My daughter’s team played AFC Sudbury in the Suffolk women’s FA cup yesterday and lost 21-0.They 1st put the score up as 20-0,so I guess they lost count.Luckily she was injured or she would’ve hurt her back picking the ball out of her net. |

If the playoffs are in March 2026 it will be only 4 months before the World Cup starts.Good luck trying to sort out flights,tickets and hotels 4 months after everyone else has found out their schedules.
But fans will find a way to make it anyway.Good luck to the Irish for their cup finals to come. |

Not Ashes related but what a win for South Africa in the 1st test against India.Skittled out for 159 in the 1st innings and they end up winning by 30 runs.
I’d take that result next week please. |

Although the 4-0 score line suggests otherwise,the 2017-18 series was close at times.We lost the first two tests quite easily,but we could’ve escaped from the WACA with a draw if it wasn’t for the leaf blowers turning the pitch into a spinners dream.
Cook’s double hundred should’ve won us the game at the MCG,but the Aussies managed to hold out for the draw.
We were going well in the Sydney test until heat exhaustion done for Joe Root and a few others were already on the plane home.
Clutching at straws I guess. |

Conditions are so tough out there that I can’t see anything but an Aussie series win.I think we’ll draw one and win a meaningless test either at the MCG or SCG.
I can’t our batsmen getting enough runs to win enough tests to compensate for our poor bowling lineup. |

I bought an adult and U18 in the family stand for the Ipswich game and the two came to £41.50 with booking fee.A bit on the pricey side I thought.But they were Ipswich fans so they thought it was money well spent. |

My only visit to Blackburn was for a 12.30ko a couple of years ago,and it involved a 5.30 train which got to Blackburn just in time for a quick stroll to the ground and a 5 minute pint before the usual 1-0 defeat.We were in the upper tier,even though the whole stand below us was empty.
Not one of my best away days. |

I’ve been to a couple of away games watching the ladies play but I’ve not seen a home fixture yet.The quality isn’t the best,but that’s why we’re in the 4th(?) tier of women’s football.
I heard that there are a few qpr supporters in the team so they’re living the dreams of most of us wanting to play for QPR.Bear in mind though that Ipswich got promoted to the WSL 2 this season and are getting well beaten most weeks.
My daughter plays on Sunday afternoons so I can’t attend as many of their games as I’d like to do.
Just go and enjoy the afternoon and cheer on the ladies team whatever the result.And it wouldn’t take an awful lot of investment to get to the next level in the women’s game. |
