Help Town Win npower Cash
Help Town Win npower Cash
Thursday, 22nd Mar 2012 17:40 by TWTD.co.uk

Town are after fans’ help in securing a £30,000 prize in a competition run by Football League sponsors npower with the cash going towards matchday entertainment for next season.

Visit the competition Facebook page, claim a seat in the virtual Fanpower Stadium and make ‘noise’ about the Blues on Facebook and Twitter.

The Fanpower Stadium is made up of all 72 Football League sides and each club has been given a target number of sign-ups based on their average attendance for the season up to January 30th, in Town’s case 18,249. Whichever club in each division hits this target first will win £10,000 from npower.

A further £20,000 prize is also up for grabs in each division, going to the club that makes the most 'noise' inside the virtual stadium. Running until June 1st, the more mentions and status updates on Facebook involving Town first team players’ surnames, the manager's surname, Portman Road, Ipswich Town and The Tractor Boys, as well as check-ins to Portman Road, the more chance Town have of securing the cash. Points per Twitter mention are also awarded.

A supporter of each of the winning clubs will be picked at random from within the Fanpower Stadium to nominate how the money will be spent from a list of five options selected by the club:

1. Pitchside sound system for live music/entertainment at half-time.

2. A Blaster cannon to fire prizes, such as T-shirts, prize tickets to exchange for goods at stadium bars or sweets, into the crowd.

3. Zorb balls manned by fans from the Blues and the opposition.

4. Professional cheerleaders for pre-match and half-time performances.

5. An inflatable booth for the Golden Gamble draw with blowers, allowing a fan to go inside and catch the three winning tickets.
