JackArmy.net Hopes To Make You Rich!!!!!

Home > Story Index >Lay Your Bets Please - 22nd November 2002

Welcome to the first of the JackArmy.net Lay your Bets sections. Nice and simple way to make you rich although we add the warning that we will only be responsible for your wins - losses are down to you!!!!!!
In this section every Friday we will take a look at the weekend domestic coupon (as provided by Sporting Odds) and tell you what we think will make good bets. You then choose to ignore us (at your peril) or follow our advice and pick up some readies to keep you going over the next week.
There is no science to this, merely a thought chain of what could happen over the course of the weekend. We will always pick the best bet in our minds in all four main English divisions and then pick you a 6 match accumulator to follow.
So let's have a look at the weekend matches with our thoughts
Let's start at Old Trafford. Over the past few years Manchester United at home has been one to avoid unless you fancy a minimal return. This weekend they entertain Newcastle on Saturday (12.15 kick off) and are quoted at 8/13. For want of a better phrase those are ludicrous odds. There is a mini crisis (major to them!) at Old Trafford and Newcastle are very likely to come away from there with something. Back them at both 4/1 to win and 12/5 for the draw and you will get a plus return if they are equal stakes.
In the first division I fancy Norwich to win at Burnley at 13/8. Burnley are 11th in the table, Norwich 3rd but 10 points seperate them and 13/8 seems generous on this kind of basis. £5 on this one will return you £13.13 (assuming I'm right!)
Brentford and Wigan is the match that jumps out at me for the 2nd division. Wigan are top and Brentford 7th but both are quoted at 6/4 for the win. However, the match seems to have draw written all over it (well thats what the gut feeling says) - back it at 11/5.
"Division Three Is Upside Down" well, don't we wish that it was here in Swansea but sadly it's not an Hartlepool are at the top. 17 points seperate them from their opponents this Saturday, Leyton Orient and despite being away from home 6/5 seems generous odds for any side at the top of a division?
So onto the JackArmy.net acculumator. This is a 6 match accumulator that will return bigger money (assuming all come in!!!) The 6 we have picked for you this weekend are Hartlepool (6/5 at Leyton Orient), Everton (1/2 at home to West Brom), Oldham (4/9 at home to Chesterfield), Kidderminster (5/6 at home to Oxford), Arsenal (4/6 at Southampton) and Leicester (1/2 at home to Rotherham) All 6 together will return you around 20/1 as an accumulator.
And if you want one to avoid this weekend then it's Sunderland at 10/11 at home to Birmingham - crazily short odds for a side that only wins 1 in 5!
