Mannheim Twin town contact details

Dave's response to Gareth's point: "I am quite happy for us as a club to write to the clubs in Cork and Manheim to introduce ourselves to them. We will see where it leads from there. As you seem to have some knowledge do you have details on how to contact them etc?" Hi Dave/all, i have done a little research over here and come across the following website: http://www.mannheim.de/vsp/ It's the organisation that deals with promoting and strengthening links with Mannheim's twin towns, of which Swansea is the oldest (1957). As the site says: "Wichtigste Aufgabe unseres Vereins ist die Vermittlung von Kontakten zwischen Manschen in Mannheim und unseren ausländischen und deutschen Partnerstädten" which translates as "the most important task of our organisation is to forge and promote contact between the people of Mannheim and our partner towns both in Germany and abroad". The email address of the director of this organisation is: oliver.brummer@mannheim.de I would have thought any link should go through the town itself, as opposed to direct contact with the club, but nevertheless here are the details of SV Waldhof Mannheim: SV Waldhof Mannheim 07 e.V. Geschäftsstelle, Spielbetrieb Alsenweg 68305 Mannheim Tel. 0049 621 / 76 41 5-15 Email: office@svwm.de Many thanks to Gareth for raising this issue again (and beating me to it!!!) - it's a subject which i feel quite passionate about, for obvious reasons.

Dave Morgan. Thanks for the details of the contact points. The club should contact Mannheim and Cork directly and I thank you for passing on the relevant details which we shall use to contact them.

A PLEA TO THE DIRECTORS

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi All, This years home leg of the Building bridges game against the Cardiff fans maybe in doubt if we can't get a pitch to play on. I have tried to get the Morfa centre pitch but they have stopped taking bookings about 2 weeks ago. I also spoke to the head groundsman at BP Llandarcy and he said that was also a no go. My plea to you is simple " IS THERE ANY CHANCE WE COULD USE THE VETCH FOR OUR HOME LEG ON THE 27TH JULY " what we all achieved last year both home and away by both sets of fans was an awesome feat and can be achieved yet again but we may need help. The press and media will be involved shortly and I would love to announce that we are playing our home leg on the Vetch. You hear club officials from every club saying they wish more fans could get along well the way I see it it's now your time to help us out again and hopefully do what you can as a board. I KNOW OUR LOT WOULD BE SO PROUD TO WEAR THE CLUB COLOURS AND PLAY AGAINST THE CARDIFF FANS ON THE VETCH. YOU MAYBE OUR LAST THROW OF THE DICE, PLEASE SUPPORT THE LADS, WE DESERVE IT TYVM. ATB. Reeco
Dave Morgan: After direct conversations with GaryJack, this problem I believe has been sorted out. Gary understands the possible financial implications that playing this match at the Vetch could have accrued. These would need to have been met by the JackArmy.net football team. Why don't you pick up the phone next time you want to discuss something like this? You know how to contact us. We have always tried to help out in the past and if we can we will do the same again in the future. If you are still unsure, Gary or Phil Crocker will explain the matters behind potential financial costs.

Morfa

Are there going to be any transport links to the morfa such as the train or will it only be accessable by car? I am asking because quite a few people catch the train to the vetch (i am one of them) and would find it hard to get to the morfa
Dave Morgan: The council will be in charge of all transportation links to and from the stadium. I do not think that money will be available to build a new train station at Morfa - the quotes I have seen run into many millions of pounds for a new one to be constructed. Of course there will be shuttle buses running from various places to and from the Morfa and I am sure that one of these will be High Street station.
