Freestone - 9 One amazing save. solid throughout. Kicking still crap. Who cares?. Jones - 7 Didn't look match fit. few exellent tackles. Off injured. Howard - 7 Worked hard. played out of position. distribution still terrible. Hylton - 9 He really meant business today. crunching tackles. good going forward. Izzy - 8 (first half 2) out of sorts in 1st half. storming second half. O'Leary - 10 Held the back line together. Immense. should have more kids. Maylett - 5 Was the early season form a con job?. lacking confidence. Robinson - 8 Amazing free-kick. worked hard. Martinez - 7 Improvement on 7 days ago. on his way back. Connolly - 6 Who? Britton - 8 in the thick of the action in second-half. some good passes. Trundle - 8 improved tenfold when Thomas came on to partner him. went crazy at end. Thomas - 10 I just DARE Flynn not to give him a 10-15 game run in the team. Go on Bryan I DARE YOU. Coates - not really on pitch long enough. I'm off to celebrate a victory the way George Best would.

and hello to all fellow jacks who kept us company on the M4 on the way home !! Freestone - 9 Fantastic save..roger roger give us a wave! Jones - 5 to be honest didn't really take much notice of him but can remember one really good tackle. Howard - 3 Too many howlers! Hylton - 9 Made immediate impact..pretty solid performance Izzy - 7 Not one of his best displays but improved - more like he was at the start of the season in first half O'Leary - 10 My MOM...Outstanding..more of the same please! Maylett - 3 surprisingly disappointed here - not up to recent form and did I hear he got MOM? Robinson - +10 got stuck in and WHAT A FREE KICK! Martinez - 5 First full match I have seen him in for a long time - not up to past form - hope he does get it back Connolly - 6 Who? - couldn't agree more Britton - 9 came close a couple of times - certainly key to todays success Trundle - 8 Good throughout - they'd obviously heard about him! Got even better when Thomas came on and does a good PR job for club with kiddies as well! Thomas - 10 HAS to start more matches now - surely its time to pension Nugent off - Thomas changed the game (and the fans!)- Really ran at them (and I still think he is top totty as well!) Coates - Didn't notice him at all so no comment

Freestone 8 - Made vital saves at vital moments Jones 7 - Solid, will grow into the side like Duffy did O'Leary 10 - Deserves all the praise thrown at him Iriekpen 7 - Looks panicky at times, seems to work well with O'Leary Howard 7 - Didn't really put a foot wrong, a few misplaced passes when switched to the right Maylett 7 - Started brightly and faded, probably not fully match fit Martinez 7 - Worth a place on the pitch purely because of the talking he does. an inspirational captain Connolly 5 - The only poor performance Britton 8 - Tireless work , a pain in the ass to play against Trundle 7 - Came to life with the introduction of Thommo Robinson 9 - Our Roy Keane. Brilliant free kick Subs Thomas 8 - Should be starting every game Coates 6 - Not really on long enough Hylton 8 - This is how he can play. Let's hope he stays fit. Overall Comments: Preston were technically a better side, but with the introduction of Thomas and Hylton and the switch to 4-4-2, we looked capable of beating anybody. Pressure must be put on Flynn from above to dump ths 4-3-3 crap and start with our strongest side regardless. --- Post edited by JobcentreJack on 25/1 12:33 ---

....as I was not at the game today. Managed to listen to it though. Preston North End p s me off. Well done Swansea, don't let anyone take the victory away from you. We've been knocked out two years running by a third division team, and by what I've listened to today we deserve it. I hope you draw a massive team at home. Rub it in our faces. P s the board off! Bring on Chealsea, Everton, United, Liverpool!

Preston didn't play badly at all. Obviously a decent first division side. Think its got more to do with the lack of respect given to Swansea as a side, everyone thinks they're coming down to play a crappy third division side, but we nearly always rise to the occaision with the big boys and often provide a shock, although not to our supporters who know what we're capable of. Couple of seasons ago we beat QPR 4-0. Few years back we drew to West Ham away and then beat them at home (when they were still Premiereship), and we should have beaten Derby also. Brian Flynn's record speaks for itself with Wrexham also, beating the likes of Arsenal, Ipswich and West Ham in the cup. This is what makes the FA Cup soo special at the end of the day. So I wouldn't be soo pi$$ed off at your own side, they did play well, and at 1-0 I was accepting that it wasn't to be our day. Whoever we draw in the next round though, if we're not given the respect, we'll cause an upset. Personnally I'd like a day out at Old Trafford - we'll have to wait and see. atb for the rest of the season anyway! By the way, we're worth a fiver on a win if we draw a Premiereship side, you should get good price!!

This may sound strange, but the introduction of Thomas in the second half changed the game. It lifted the crowd and the team. He ran everything down, won a few cruical headers, put himself about, unsettled them and worked well with Trundle. We looked shafted until he came on. He also set up Trundles winner. Well done Thommo. If Flynn EVER picks Nugent over Thomas again if both are fit, then he's as mad as a hatter.

Totally agree with that mate. I thought when we were 4-5-1 the midfield played well but Trundle was completely out of the game. Thommo came on and and the rest is history.......

Agree completely Thomas coming on, allowed Trundle to have more room and also the introduction of Hylton gave us more width down the left and gave us another option. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY
