Saints fans are already responding to the teams plight

Saints are expecting a big crowd at St Mary's for the visit of Ipswich Town, although performances in recent weeks havent been great a combination of several things has meant that ticket sales have been as healthy as any other game this season.

So what is bringing back the fans to St Mary's, well firstly there is the hard work done by the Supporter Services Department headed by David luker, they have designed a special event around the game aimed at attracting the female supporter.

Then there is the attraction of the first real game in charge at home by Nigel Pearson, fans do have some hopes from the new manager, for many the continued selection of Jason Euell had become synonomous with the club's demise, with Pearson dropping Euell at Scunthorpe for many it offered hope that something was changing and we werent going to see the same old players and same old tactics that had got us into this mess.

Thirdly of course, many supporters as a season drags on do start to realise that the club needs their help and they come back into the fold and over the next two months this will be the biggest single factor in the fate of the club.

Finally we should applaud our visitors, over the years their support has been as good as any that has come down to either St Mary's or the Dell and as they push for promotion they are sure to bring a big following.

At the start of the week ticket sales were healthy and if they continue to be brisk in the run up to the game then we might just have the biggest crowd of the season on our hands, if you havent got a ticket yet then get down there and buy one.
