Just over three weeks ago the heavens opened over Swansea and the game against Darlington fell victim to the weather. The rearranged date also had to be moved because of our FA Cup tie at Cheltenham on Sunday but fingers crossed the game should take place on Wednesday night with the Swans looking for the win that will put them back on top of the league.
It's been seven straight home wins for the Swans, all to a clean sheet, and they will be looking to take that run past the three month mark against a Darlington side which sit just outside of the play offs, knowing that a win will take them into 5th place in the league - just 3 points behind the Swans.
It should be another bumper crowd at the Vetch on Wednesday with the North Bank capacity up by another 500 places to 5,322 and the West Terrace also open to pay on the night fans after agreement with the police. The club also hope that it will be the last home fixture that the boards will remain in place as they hope to get the green light to strengthen the back of the North Bank pretty much straight after the game.
The Swans are likely to field a pretty much unchanged side although Andy Gurney seems almost certain to be recalled instead of Alan Tate at right back. With Lee Trundle and Paul Connor both finding the target on Sunday, Jackett will be hoping to field the two of them once again against Darlo.
Darlington's FA Cup tie on Saturday saw them secure a 3-3 draw with fellow promotion candidates Yeovil. The good news for the Swans is that Craig Hignett will be missing for this game but the defence will have to be at it's best to cope with the threat of Alun Armstrong and Clive Wijnhard.
Darlo's form is marginally better than ours over the last 6 games but I can see home advantage being the differing factor on this occasion and not in the way that whingebag Ian Atkins thinks it is.
2-1 Swans.
