Jackett: Robinson and Watt Remain At Liberty

Jackett: Robinson Stays At Liberty

Kenny Jackett has said that new contract or not, Andy Robinson is going nowhere and will be at the Liberty Stadium come August 5 for the season opener against Cheltenham.

The midfielder who scores 18 goals last season has attracted formal bids from Southend, interest from Stoke and media speculation that local rivals Cardiff City may also be interested. Although the latter two clubs have not formally made any bids to Swansea. And whilst the club continue talks with Robinson on an extension to his existing contract which has just 12 months left to run.

Talking to the Evening Post, Jackett said "We are not going to sell Andy Robonson whatever happens with his contract. We had a bid from Southend and it's the only one we have had. We are not going to sell him."

And amid speculation that Steve Watt was on the verge of leaving for Swindon, Jackett was equally defiant "I have only got 2q0 professionals at the moment and three of them had operations this summer. I am definitely not looking to move anyone out."

This was a view backed by Swindon chief executive Mark Devlin who said "He is someone Dennis Wise has mentioned to me. But it has not gone any further than that. My latest understanding was that maybe the player did not want to come down to League Two."
