Saints make their shortest trip of the season and it might be their toughest.

To be blunt its not going to be easy on Saturday for Saints, not only are they on the back of two straight defeats but they travel to the team with the best home record in the division, seven wins, one draw and not a single defeat and to add to that the most goals scored at home at an average of three a game and only four against, its going to be tough.

However unbeaten runs are their to be smashed and as preston found out, you write off this Saints team at your peril, however Saints will do well to even take a point out of this clash.

One thing is for sure saints will be backed by a large and noisy following and hopefully this will inspire them, it cant be great for morale to face a half empty St Mary's each week, but at the Madejski their will be a virtual full house and each and every one of the visiting fans needs to keep behind the team to the final whistle.

The odds though say that Saints will be beaten and if they are it wont be the end of the World, just as a shock win wont herald a promotion push, in truth it will be a relief to get this and the last two games out of the way and be able to take on some sides that we are capable of beating.

On the plus side we could see the return of Michael Svensson and Jordan Robertson is back to fitness, although with the loss of Jason Euell it will be a young side out there.

But as I said they play without fear and away from home in the league, Swansea apart, they have usually been a joy to watch even if they have conceded some sloppy goals that have lead to a couple of defeats that havent really reflected the game.

The head says a Reading win, but the heart says that this is just the sort of game that Saints often end up upsetting the form books, a point would be a cause for celebration though.
