Cup Ticket Prices Will Prove Point
Cup Ticket Prices Will Prove Point

There have been many reasons given for the low attendances at St Mary's, now a point will be proved.

Saints supporters who are staying away from St Mary's usually give one of two reasons for doing so, its either because of Lowe or they feel the pricing is too high.

In the coming weeks we have two games that will prove a few points, first up we have Nottingham Forest, here ticket prices have been slashed and an adult can get in for £15, then we have the FA Cup tie with Man Utd, prices have been incresed slightly for this with all tickets for adults being £30, an increse albeit a small one on the normal league prices, but certainly a lot cheaper than for this fixture in the Premier.

So what one will have the highest attendance ? if the reasons given for non attendance are true, then it will surely be the Forest game, half the price of Man Utd and a reasonable price for all including kids.

The reality will be that Forest will still struggle to top 20k whilst United will be a virtual full house, thus proving the point that the biggest single reason (and i do appreciate there are those with financial constraints or genuine reasons) for the empty seats isnt the cost of tickets, isnt Lowe, isnt the entertainment value or even the place in the league, its purely and simply the opposition that we are playing.

Supporters would rather watch a depleted Man Utd than a vital six pointer relegation battle.

Before anyone starts getting on their high horse, im passing no judgements here, im only commenting on the situation, maybe i will be pleasantly surprised, but somehow I doubt it.
