Today's newspaper is reporting that the Swans wanted to charge Cardiff City fans £7 more for the upcoming derby

Swansea City and Cardiff City meet for the second time this season on 30th November with a £30,000 police bill on the horizon for the Swans.

To try and offset the size of the bill, the club wanted to charge visiting Cardiff fans £7 more than normal but this was refused by the Bluebirds management.

A second request was also reported to have been knocked back to increase prices by £5.

The News of the World reports that Swansea wrote to the football league requesting ticket prices be put up to compensate for the extra costs.

They also report a League source as saying "Cardiff refused to do anything that would disadvantage their fans.  They also took the view that they would not be putting up prices when Swansea play at Ninian Park later in the season.

"Each club tells the league at the start of the season what their ticket prices are and they can be changed only under special circumstances."

The paper suggests that the total police bill for the 11.15am kick off could be 50% higher than the Carling Cup clash in September.
