Roberto Martinez has almost got through the transfer window with no interest in his squad to date

The Swansea City manager must have wondered whether there would be interest in some of his players following their impressive season to date on their return to second tier football.

Chasing a play off spot and winning plaudits almost everywhere they play, there were several possible players that may have attracted interest from elsewhere although one of the main potential targets sadly is out for the rest of the season through injury.

And not surprisingly Roberto is happy at the lack of interest in his Swans squad at the moment and he told the Evening Post

"We have had no interest so far and hopefully we won't get any

"I think the reason why nobody has come in for any of our players is that our financial situation is quite well known.

"Other clubs realise that we don't have to sell any players.

"The other factor is that if you look where Swansea City are, we are a club that is still growing and still progressing.

"Other clubs know we are not going to accept a bid for anyone.

"We are working for the future and we want to achieve something here.

"We are in a fantastic situation financially — that was clear in the summer with Ferrie — and that's a huge strength to have.

"When clubs look to sign players, the first thing they consider is whether they will be wasting their time.

"That's why we haven't had anyone chasing our players.

"The message from us is clear — there's no point bothering trying to sign one of our players."
