Joe Allen holds no fears as he prepares for "the biggest game of his career"

Allen looks set to take his place in the Swansea City line up on Saturday when they attempt to knock the holders out of the FA Cup.

Allen has been one of the surprise stars of the season and has almost cemented his place in the Swans midfield at the moment which has probably earned himself the chance to take on their Premier League oppositon at Fratton Park.

And that in itself does not phase the Wales Under 21 international who told the Evening Post "To go to a Premier League ground will be an exciting experience, everyone is looking forward to testing themselves against that standard of player and see how we come out of it.

"The FA Cup is a massive competition and to play against Portsmouth is huge. It is the biggest game of my career.

"But I've been part of a few interesting results already.

"There was the France Under-21s game — that was a major shock.

"With the qualifying groups it was only the top team that qualified. You had to win almost every game.

"In a way it was like a cup tie. That could help me tomorrow, knowing a result is the only thing to get you through. You learn from the experience.

"They obviously have some big players," said Allen. "But when you get on the pitch it's XI versus XI. You don't think about who you are against, you just play the game."
