Swansea City have drawn Fulham in the fifth round of the FA Cup after overcoming Premiership side Portsmouth yesterday.

Fulham survived a scare in the fourth round after non league side Kettering Town took Roy Hodgson's side close to a replay at Craven Cottage but the premiership side's class shone through as the London club ran out 4-2 winners.

Yesterday Roberto Martinez's side brushed aside then cup holders Portsmouth in a thrilling encounter at Fratton Park. Showing poise and resilience Tony Adams's side packed with world class players could not break down Swansea despite testing an inspired Dimi Konstantopolos in the Swans goal.

On loan from Pompy's arch rivals Southampton, Nathan Dyer opened his goal scoring account with the Liberty Stadium club after latching onto a pin point Jason Scotland through-ball. If Portsmouth fans were showing any jitters the nerves of the Fratton Park faithful certainly were rocking just before half time as Algerian defender Nadir Belhadj brought down Jordi Gomez in the box. Referee Andre Marriner without hesitation pointed to the spot and continuing his rich vein of scoring form Scotland stepped up and slotted the ball past James to make it 2-0 to the visitors.

Stealing all the headlines in the press this morning there was little doubt what Martinez thought of his side's performance. Visibly impressed by the performance the Spainard has insisted that the win was no fluke as he told the BBC , he said "It wouldn't say it was a fluke, we were the better side over the 90 minutes. It was a great performance to the end because we had to hold our concentration and our focus. The players have worked extremely hard and success in football doesn't come as an accident

He added "(The win) was more than anything the positive feeling of being able to come to a Premier League environment and be ourselves. That's what we were looking for and I'm delighted we've been able to do that because to say we've been the better side against a very good Portsmouth side, I think it tells you a lot about the performance. “

Swansea safely negotiated a tricky test in the third round after goals from Guillem Bauza and Gorka Pintado downed non league Histon.

Ties will be played over the weekend of the 14th and 15th of February.
