Sousa Back In For Southampton Striker?

Paulo Sousa has revived his interest in Southampton striker Marek Saganowski, according to The Sun

31 year old Saganowski was heavily linked with a move to Swansea in the summer along with strike partner Grzegorz Rasiak - who moved to Reading.

The Polish striker has made just 4 starts this season for the Saints, and remains goalless with Alan Pardew usually preferring Rickie Lambert and David Connolly up front.

As Saganowski is out of contract next summer, it's believed that he would be allowed to leave St Mary's on a free transfer in January.

"Saganowski’s career is elsewhere from here at this time," Saints boss Pardew told the Daily Echo.

"It’s pretty evident to him because he hasn’t been on the bench and he is doing everything he can to find himself a club.

"The climate is not easy at the moment for any player, whether you are a non-league player or an international player, to get a club that is willing to take any more personnel.

"It’s difficult for him and I feel for him because he’s been good and proper around the training ground every day and he’s not caused me one problem.

"But I don’t see him in my vision and therefore we are looking, and he is looking, for a club.”

Swansea currently have five senior forwards on their books: Craig Beattie, Lee Trundle, Gorka Pintado, Stephen Dobbie and Besian Idrizaj - so a new signing would probably see up to two of the current strikeforce leave.
