Jenkins: Agents Have Proved To Be Disruptive

Huw Jenkins has revealed his frustration at certain players' agents as he tries to engineer contract extensions

The Swansea City Chairman revealed his frustration in the Evening Post accusing agents of maybe not always acting in the players best interests when it comes to their future.

The Swans are currently trying to negotiate new deals with Andrea Orlandi, Angel Rangel and Jazz Richards but are becoming increasingly frustrated by the role of agents as stories surface of interest elsewhere in the three players.

Jenkins told the Evening Post "As a club we are still waiting for Jazz Richards, we are still waiting for Angel Rangel and we are still waiting for Andrea Orlandi to make their minds up on the contract offers we have discussed

"The same is true with Leon Britton, but in his case we have a good relationship with the agent and we are prepared to let him decide on his offer at the end of the season. But with the other three, the agents we are dealing with have proved to be very disruptive. We believe their actions are hampering the players' progression within our football club.

"We have a good relationship with the players — everybody is fine with that," the Swansea chairman added. "But the agents are proving to be a massive stumbling block as far as the negotiations go"
